ENVENA Ltd. participated in the Public Consultation on the draft law “Amendment of N.2939/2001 – Packaging and alternative management of packaging waste and other products – Establishment of a National Organisation for the Alternative Management of Packaging and other products (EOEDSAP) and other provisions”. Our observations regard the prioritization of work on bio-waste, the ‘person liable’ for the “small quantities of hazardous household waste” when they come from different products and adding other types of waste to the provisions of the law.

Copernicus Training and Information Session

ENVENA Ltd. attended the ‘Copernicus Training and Information Session’ that was held on 7 October 2016 in Athens at the premises of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (N.H.R.F). It is the first of a series of national Copernicus events which the European Commission will be organising at the request of, and in collaboration with Member States. It aims to promote awareness of the many uses of Copernicus data and information, while providing the opportunity of hands on demonstrations and basic training regarding:
- The data and information available,
- Its potential uses and applications, both generally and amongst specific categories of users or business sectors
- The tools available to access the data and information,
- The financing opportunities aimed at fostering market development and user uptake.
- The potential uses of Copernicus data and information for start-ups and developers It targets both national Copernicus “intermediate” and end user communities.

Day Conference AGRO-LESS ‘Common reference strategies for reduced inputs agricultural activities’

ENVENA Ltd. attended the final day conference of the project AGRO-LESS “Common reference strategies for reduced inputs agricultural activities” that took place on the 30th of October 2015 at the Thessaloniki Science Center and Technology Museum “NOESIS”. The project was funded by the European Territorial Cooperation Program Greece – Bulgaria 2007-2013. The focus of the conference, organized by the Region of Central Macedonia, was the presentation and discussion of the project. The objective of the project is the adoption of a strategic reference framework in a cross-border region for the support of the rural population in the application of reduced input agriculture driven through the practises of agricultural activities (fertilization, irrigation and crop protection) leading to reduced impact of agro-products on the environment and maximising the product quality of agricultural goods.

ENVENA Ltd. participates in the International Conference ‘RECIS 2015’.

ENVENA Ltd. was one of the speakers in the RECIS Conference (22-23 May, Santorini, Greece) presenting the latest information on “Mobile units for waste management: Legal framework, Environmental Licensing and Examples”. Mobile units for waste management should be considered in the case on islands, since the quantities of the produced waste do not justify the construction pf plants in small islands. The recent amendment of the legislation provides fast methods for environmental permits and there exist mobile units for managing MSW, hospital waste (sterilisation), wastewater etc.
The objective of the 1st International Conference on Recycling in Island Regions (RECIS 2015) was fulfilled as it succeeded “to bring together all the stakeholders involved, representatives of the local authorities and state institutions, representatives of the alternative management systems, academics, researchers and companies in the field in order to analyse the existing situation, to highlight the possibilities and to propose solutions and ideas to the further enhancement of the recycling in the islands.”

The 1st International Conference on Recycling in Island Regions (RECIS 2015) will take place between the 22nd and the 23rd of May 2015 in Santorini, Greece.
